Why Patina?

We envision a world where diverse people can lead with confidence—uplifting their communities, advancing in their careers, and shaping their own paths.

We believe that this can be achieved by understanding the stories of different intersectional identities. In particular, our mission is to advocate for AANHPI women, and promote understanding and allyship within our community.

Our name, Patina Network, reflects the idea that we each make a mark on each other. Big or small, these patterns form a patina over time: each one unique and to be cherished.

Our story

In 2024, our founders crossed paths and quickly realized they had lived through similar experiences: navigating school and early careers without the guidance, resources, or cultural understanding many of their peers took for granted. On top of that, living up to all the unspoken expectations that come with being Asian-American woman in today's world.

That summer, along with a growing team of supporters, they created something they wished they had all along: a mentorship program built on empathy, not prestige. And just like that, the Patina community was born.

As we grow, we hope our community continues to be a place where people can break free of preconceptions and learn how to be better supporters for their neighbors.
