We would like to extend our sincerest congratulations to the recipients of our first-ever Community Scholarship: Hafsa Rehman and Jenny Lin! This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to initiatives that support AANHPI women.
This scholarship was created to recognize not only academic excellence, but also resilience, community spirit, and leadership potential. Each winner embodies our mission to uplift the next generation of AANHPI leaders while building bridges of mentorship and support.
Meet the 2026 winners!
Hafsa Rehman - Skidmore College
Hi, my name is Hafsa Rehman, and I’m from New York City. I’m currently a first-year student at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, where I plan to major in International Relations and pursue the pre-nursing track. I’m passionate about making healthcare more accessible and hope to build a career where I can combine my interest in medicine with my commitment to serving others. At Skidmore, I’m a member of MedConnect, an organization that helps students explore careers in medicine through volunteering, shadowing, guest speakers, and discussions about community health. I also hope to join Skidmore College Emergency Medical Services after earning my EMT certification. Outside of academics, I enjoy getting involved in my community and learning from people with different experiences. I’m grateful for the opportunities that allow me to grow, serve others, and explore the kind of impact I want to make in the future.
Jenny Lin - CUNY Baruch College
I’m Jenny Lin, a student at the School of Visual Arts pursuing a BFA in Graphic Design. I aspire to follow my passions in branding and motion design in my future career and to continue representing and advocating for Asian American women and culture in the field of art. I’m incredibly grateful to be able to support my community through design, be able to drive engagement towards opportunities and awareness towards resources available to AANHPI students, and it means so much to have the support of Patina Network in continuing my pursuit of education.
A note from the Board of Directors:
Patina Network is committed to breaking down barriers for AANHPI students and future leaders, and uplifting their stories. All of the applicants submitted riveting stories, and reading them reminds us why we do the work we do. To all our applicants, and to those who did not apply but have a story of resilience in your heart, please know that you are an inspiration to us all.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to all of our supporters, community, and especially donors that believe in our mission and helped to make this happen. Our small scholarship is about more than just money, it is providing students with more freedom to spend time with their families, communities, and enjoying their college lives to the fullest.
If you want to get involved with our community or help support next year's scholarship, donate here or learn about volunteer opportunities here!
